There may not be a chocolate‑box of Jersey Royals, but the potatoes themselves are very real — the first of the season, hand‑lifted from Jersey’s steep côtils, where south‑facing slopes, gentle sea breezes and soils enriched by vraic (seaweed) create the perfect conditions for their signature character. Prized by chefs and food lovers alike, Jersey Royals are celebrated for their creamy texture, delicate skins and naturally nutty flavour — a taste that truly marks the beginning of spring.
